What is Microneedling – FAQ

What is Microneedling and what are its benefits?

Microneedling is a cosmetic treatment where fine needles are used to create micro-injuries in the skin, triggering a natural healing process. The benefits include:

  • Promotion of collagen production for firmer skin
  • Reduction of wrinkles, scars, and skin irregularities
  • Improved absorption of skincare products
  • Minimal downtime and quick recovery

How often should I undergo the treatment?

For good and visible results, we recommend undergoing the treatment six times every two weeks.

What should be considered before Microneedling?

Avoid sunburn and active tanning at least 2 weeks before. Discontinue the use of skin-irritating products such as retinol in the days leading up to the treatment.

What should be considered in the days following Microneedling?

After the treatment, use gentle cleansing and skincare products provided in the subscription variant. Use sunscreen consistently to protect the skin from UV rays. Avoid physical exertion, sauna, and swimming pool visits for a few days.

Who is Microneedling not recommended for?

The treatment is not recommended for pregnant or breastfeeding women, individuals with skin infections or diseases (eczema, neurodermatitis, perioral dermatitis, rosacea), those taking blood-thinning medications, diabetics, individuals with herpes (please discuss with us for potential precautionary measures), and if you feel unwell, we kindly ask you to reschedule the treatment.

In which months are Microneedling treatments conducted?

October to May.

How long should I avoid wearing makeup?

On the same day, refrain from using makeup. After 24 hours, you can resume your usual makeup routine.

How long will my skin be red, and what does it look like in the following days?

The duration of redness varies from one person to another, ranging from an hour to a day. Microneedling is an active treatment where we intentionally induce inflammation in the skin for rejuvenation. Therefore, we recommend doing the treatment in the evening or on a day when you have no other appointments. There might be slight flaking 2-3 days after the treatment, which is a normal reaction and can be well-treated with the appropriate cream.

Which products are used for Microneedling?

For the treatment, we use products from Fillmed by Filorga and IS Clinical.
